Summer Reading Program!


SUMMER  READING PROGRAM FOR AGES 0-18

This app will be available in June for logging your reading and more!

Grab –n- Go Bags: For children ages birth to 8 years will be available at the library Mon. – Thurs from 11:00 – 4:00 or on Tuesdays at Sturgis Elementary School during the Summer Meals. Each week you can get a bag with activities, a gently-used book, and the next week’s craft. There will be something for all ages included!

Prizes: Will be given out after August 21st. There are 88 days in this summer’s reading program. Everyone who tracks 45 days of reading will receive a $10 gift card from a local Sturgis business. AUGUST 21ST IS THE FINAL DATE TO TURN IN READING NUMBERS TO RECEIVE A GIFT CARD!

Tweens and Teens:  Activity logs for youth ages 9 – 12 years and 13 – 18 years will be available at the library or can be downloaded from the library’s blog or Facebook page. Check out the READsquared app also!

YouTube Craft Tutorials: Each week we will post a craft tutorial video on YouTube. One week it will be for the craft in the Grab – n – Go bags. The opposite weeks will be craft videos just for the Tweens and Teens.  Go to YouTube and look for Sturgis Public Library videos!

Virtual Story Hours:
Each week we will post a virtual story time program. It will combine toddlers and children’s stories, songs and activities for ages birth to 8 years. We will start the story time with the toddlers in mind for the first 10 minutes and move into activities that the children can do. They will be posted on YouTube for you to watch when it’s convenient for you!
