The Long-Shining Waters
The One Book SD chosen by the SD Humanities Council this year is The Long-Shining Waters, by Danielle Sosin. In the book, Sosin weaves an intricate tale revolving around Lake Superior.
Sturgis readers will meet to discuss The Long-Shining Waters on Thursday, September 5th at 7:00 P.M. in the Sturgis City Hall Meeting Room. Dr. Kathy Antonen, SD School of Mines and Technology, will lead the discussion. Refreshments will be served. Books to borrow are available at the Sturgis Public Library.
Danielle Sosin will be visiting the Sturgis Public Library on Tuesday, September 17th from 5:00-7:00P.M. during a special Chamber Mixer. Books will be available to purchase. There will also be a silent auction fundraiser for the South Dakota Festival of Books.
